The first edition of the Illustrated History of Lebanon was published in 1987. It covered the period extending from the Stone Age until the outbreak of the civil war in 1975. This new edition continues the story until 2008. It is expressed in terms of a chronological narrative that reframes landmark events and key dates, illustrated with detail, color, and humor. Le Droit commercial du professeur Émile Tyan, publié pour la première fois en 1968, est un ouvrage de référence incontournable au Liban. Véritable classique, il est utilisé depuis des décennies par les étudiants, les avocats, les praticiens du droit des affaires ainsi que par les magistrats, qui s’y réfèrent fréquemment dans leurs décisions. Consciente de l’importance durable de ce cours fondamental, Hachette Antoine en a publié en 2017 une deuxième édition, entièrement révisée et mise à jour. Cette réédition tient compte des évolutions législatives intervenues depuis 1968, de la doctrine récente, ainsi que des développements jurisprudentiels au Liban et en France. Or, le 29 mars 2019, soit deux ans après cette nouvelle édition, était promulguée la loi n°126, modifiant en profondeur le Code de commerce libanais ainsi que l’article 844 du Code des obligations et des contrats. Ces changements ont rendu indispensable la publication d’un supplément au cours, destiné à commenter les amendements et ajouts introduits par cette loi, à en évaluer les avancées, mais aussi à en souligner les limites. Ce package réunit ainsi l’ouvrage de référence publié en 2017 et le supplément de mise à jour, permettant au lecteur de disposer, en 2026, d’un ensemble cohérent, actualisé et pleinement opérationnel. Il comprend également un marque-page à insérer dans le volume principal, recensant l’ensemble des articles modifiés par la nouvelle loi. Cet outil pratique permet, lors de la consultation du cours, d’identifier d’un simple coup d’œil les passages concernés par les modifications législatives et de savoir quand il convient de se reporter au supplément.
